Pancake Marathon:

  • You know simply to say this whole recovery thing, keeping in mind tradition 5:   carrying the message:  in a simple form of stating of what Tradition 5 is really all about;  so I see through a spiritual waking that I had today essentially, that I know it's jarring just simply say about this whole recovery lingo, how words end of themselves yes semantics by definition to better understand what it is of what is semantics,  as yet just simply say the words in themselves I'm never the primary thing to focus on:  for you don't focus on the message you focus on the messenger wait hang on, essentially focus on the message and never the messenger:  in like kind fear can be the messenger, if you do not answer the door to the messenger well it only has one purpose in life at that moment, and if you do not answer the door to that messenger it will become the wolf that blows down your house the storm that is so big or the hostage:  as to Simply say;  so getting back to what I was saying and getting to the point is my Spiritual Awakening as a result of these steps I have come to this realization just simply say that addiction, is just another way of saying the pain that you're holding on to;  now it is our job to essentially let that pain go, the heal and to focus on the solution at hand.

  •  so in  essentially, what I am saying is, the word Addiction whatever that may be is simply saying the pain that you're holding on to and that you have to let go so you get to be part of your life again it's essentially what I am saying.

NA Just For Today:   Facing Feelings

  1. "We may fear that being in touch with our feelings will trigger an overwhelming chain reaction of pain  and panic." Basic Text p. 29

  2. While we were using, many of us were unable or unwilling to feel many emotions. If we were happy, we  used to make us happier. If we were angry or depressed, we used to mask those feelings. In continuing  this pattern throughout our active addiction, we became so emotionally confused that we weren't sure  what normal emotions were anymore.

  3. After being in recovery for some time, we find that the emotions we had suppressed suddenly begin to  surface. We may find that we do not know how to identify our feelings. What we may be feeling as rage  may only be frustration. What we perceive as suicidal depression may simply be sadness. These are the  times when we need to seek the assistance of our sponsor or other members of NA. Going to a meeting  and talking about what is happening in our lives can help us to face our feelings instead of running from  them in fear.

  4. Just for today: I will not run from the uncomfortable emotions I may experience. I will use the support of  my friends in recovery to help me face my emotions.

Daily Reflections: EQUALITY

  1. Our membership ought to include all who suffer from alcoholism. Hence we may refuse none who wish to recover. Nor ought A.A. membership ever depend upon money or conformity. Any two or three alcoholics  gathered together for sobriety may call themselves an A.A. group, provided that, as a group, they have no  other affiliation. ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, p. 565

  2. Prior to A.A., I often felt that I didn't "fit in" with the people around me. Usually "they" had more/less  money than I did, and my points of view didn't jibe with

  3. "theirs." The amount of prejudice I had experienced in society only proved to me just how phony some  self

  4. -righteous people were. After joining A.A., I found the way of life I had been searching for. In A.A. no  member is any better than any other member; we're just alcoholics trying to recover from alcoholism.
